Trimmed Blue Spruce

Question
I have a 45' blue spruce in my yard. Recently the power company trimed back the tree on the windward side. The branches were removed from 35" level to the 20" level of to within 5' of the trunk.  Does this tree have a future or should I remove it?

Answer
I assume you meant the 35 foot level to the 20 foot level and the branches are cut to 5 feet from the trunk.
If the limbs that were pruned still have foliage on them them will survive. But if there is not foliage on the limbs it is highly unlikely that any will sprout. Conifers do not produce foliage on old wood. The tree can survive ok without this part of the crown but will look lopsided. I would not remove it. It can grow just fine in this shape.
