Should you put mulch under this mature tree. This tree is growing on a slope & got very dry this summer.
How much mulch, any specific kind and where should it be spread?
Limb spread approx. 12-15ft at base. Location S. Ontario nr. Toronto

Mulch would not be necessary for a tree this large. The root system has been well established and would not benefit from mulch. The roots extend out about 1 1/2 times the width of the branches so any mulch would need to be that width. But this old of a tree does not need mulch.
