constant falling leaves

Question
We have a Magnolia tree, which is about 34 years old. It has beautiful blooms at times, but seems it is constantly dropping leaves. They need to be raked/removed DAILY or they look very unsightly. Is there some type fertilizer that will prevent constant leaf dropping???

Answer
No magnolias are evergreen type leaf trees. Hardwood trees drop their leaves each fall and re leaf the next spring. Magnolia keeps its crown with leaves all year but the leaves do drop but not all at once. Some drop all year. Fertilizing it will make new leaves but will not slow the dropping. Sorry that is just the way magnolias are.
