falling leaves on bush

Question
I live in the pacific NW close to Seattle area. I had a rose bush in a patio planter and the leaves turned yellow and some leaves were falling. I thought it needed to be replanted so I moved it to a spot in my yard, but the leaves have con't to fall. Help please as this is a special rose and would like to save if possible.

Answer
When the leaves of a rose start to yellow and fall off, it is usually something is annoying the roots such as too much or too little water. Some roses resent having roots that are too warm and it can be caused by a container that is too small so the roots are close to the edges of the pot. Now that the rose is in the garden soil it should perk up. Keep a close eye on it and make sure you keep the soil damp but not too wet.Even a mulch of anything you can get in your area will help to keep the roots cool and damp. Roses are able to put out three sets of leaves and it will take a week or two before you see new healthy growth. Roses don't like to be disturbed and changing the situation will make more leaves to drop. Don't worry the rose isn't going to die. Hope this helps.
