I'm thinking about planting a couple quacking aspen trees in my front yard.  Can they cause any foundation problems?  How fr away from the house or pipes should I plant them?  Thank you. - Joe

Yes they will cause problems with sewer lines and foundations. Do not plant within at least 50 feet from a water line, sewer line, or structure. I would consider another species to plant. Check with your local nursery and give them you yard conditions size etc. and what you want in a tree (fall color, flowers) and they should be able to assist you in selecting the best tree for your yard.
