Question
We just got hit by Hurricane Earl. All the leaves of our trees have turned brown and are falling off. It is the 1st of Sept, but this shouldn't happen yet. Will these trees come back in the Spring, or are they dead?

Salt damage will cause the leaves to turn. If the trees are hardwood trees they have about shut down for the season so there will be little health damage. They will leaf out normally next spring.

IF the trees are evergreen (conifers) there will be some growth loss from the burning of the needles but they also should recover next spring.
