Question
It has double lobed leaves and large magenta flowers on all the limbs. I thought it was doing very well this year, but the leaves have turned yellow again. So, I'm beginning to think that after six years, I should probably feed it! Is that correct? If so what do I feed it?

Use 10-10-10 fertilizer at the rate of 1 lb per inch of trunk diameter scattered around the tree and watered in good. Fertilize now and again in late summer.  Make sure you do not use a product called Weed and Feed--this is a lawn fertilizer containing a herbicide which will kill the tree.
