Wind took a large limb off my citrus tree. Can I put Copper Sulfate on the wound area to protect it or will this harm or kill the tree?

Answer
Do not use anything on the wound. next spring watch for any signs of boring dust and IF you see the dust than spray the wound with an insecticide called Merit --this will stop and prevent borers from entering the wound. The tree will heal over the wound with time on its own without any wound type dressing.
