how deep a hole and what diamater of a hole, also for lilacs. the mo is bare root, lilacs are potted with growth (small)

My standard recommendation is the hole should be as deep as the container and twice the diameter, whatever the container size. For the bare-root I would dig a foot diameter and not deeper than the crown of the MO. Depending on how big this plant is you may want to stake to hold up.
