rose bush will not bloom

Question
We have one rose bush left after this past harsh winter in Chicago area.  This one rose bush came back with lots of branches and leaves but no rose buds.  How do I get it to bloom again?  I have experienced this type of problem before and I ended up digging the plant and replanted new ones.  But I really want to learn how to get this one plant to bloom again.

Answer
Many times after a nasty winter, the flower buds get killed or badly damaged by the cold. It will take about 6 weeks to make more flower buds. Sometimes using tomato fertilizer one time on the helps to activate them into making flowers. The tomato fertilizer has a high amount of the chemical the rose needs to activate it into making flowers.
