reverting back to a wild

Question
i have a hybrid tea rose that used to have large pink blooms on it but this year all that showed up what looks like a tiny wild rose buds. what happened?

Answer
All hybrid teas are budded onto what is called an understock. The understock can be a wild rose. So when the top rose dies in a cold winter, the understock starts to grow and take over. If you keep it it will be a single flower species rose which will grow into a large bush and only flower once in the spring.
