sunny border blue/perennial

Question
I live in Minnesota, and was wondering what I care I need to give my sunny border blue for the cold months ahead.  Do I need to cut them back?  If I do, when is the best time to do that?
Thank you!

Answer
Hi Sharon,
Thanx for your question.  I do not know what a sunny border blue is.  If it is a perennial and hardy to your USDA zone, then just cut it back if it is a plant to about 4 inches above the ground and mulch it with some leaves or pine needles about 4 inches deep.  If it is a shrub, I'll need more information, especially if it is a flowering shrub.  I hope this helps.
Tom
