Hibiscus buds are turning brown

Question
My hibiscus trees we're doing great until about 2 weeks ago.  The buds on them suddenly started turning brown and stopped blooming.  I also saw some webbing inide one of the buds.  This is the second year these perennials have bloomed.  What is wrong and how can I fix them?

Answer
Hi Tracy,
Thanx for your question.  It sounds like your hibiscus have been attacked by spider mites.  There are miticides (mites are more related to arachnids than to insects)available at the nursery or DIY.  You can also use horticultural soap to get rid of them.  I hope this helps.
Tom
