fuschias

Question
Hello, Tom

I have some volunteer fuschias in my back yard and I would like to keep them, but would like to move them to another place.  I live in Aberdeen, WA on the west coast and am just learning about gardening and beautifying my yard.  We are basically on the edge of a rain forest and it rains a good part of the year.  What can you tell me about the care of fuschias and how to keep them healthy and strong in my area?

Thank you for any information you can give me.

Celia

Answer
Hi Celia,
Thanx for your question.  Fuchsias are beautiful plants in splendid colors.  They do not do well in heat.  They do not do well in my part of the country (lower Midwest) because of hot, humid summers.  Here is a link to the Northwest Fuchsia Society out of Seattle.  I think you'll find this site very helpful considering it is in your neighborhood.  I hope this helps.
Tom
