hibiscus house plant

Question
please help. I have a 5 foot hibiscus that I've had for over 10 years. It looks like its dying all the leaves on the plant are drooping and also the branches. It is in a very large pot with a botton hole where I water it. But I did water it in the pot also a week ago. I cut some branches and put them in water and the leaves purked right up. Can I survive it and how? Thank you

Answer
Hi Laurie,

What do you mean by a "button hole?" I suspect root rot, but I do not understand how it is that you are watering, how dry the soil gets between waterings and just how wide the pot is. In addition I need to know what light it receives.

Can you e-mail me a photo?
