Hibiscus plant indoors

Question
Hi Darlene,

I asked you previously about a hibicus plant I bought then moved indoors. The leaves were turning yellow; you said that was normal and to give it lots of sunshine and water 3 times a week. It's right near a south-west facing window and gets sun at about 1 o'clock. I notice now that in between waterings the leaves are drooping. Anything I should be doing.

Answer
Jennifer,

It is probably pretty severely rootbound. Get a pot with a  diameter 2 inches larger than the pot it is in now, NO MORE THAN 2" LARGER, and a bag of potting soil with an extra bag of perlite. Mix the potting soil a perlite 2 parts of potting soil to 1 part of perlite and mix well then place about 1 inch of soil in the bottom of the new pot and insert the plant in the new pot.  Then put new soil around it and firm the soil. That should stop the wilting between waterings. Good luck.

Darlene
