Yucca Cane help!!

Question
I have a yucca cane plant, and the small trunk has no leaves on it. Does that mean it is dead? Second question... The other trunk is about 5 feet tall, and bearly has any leaves.  The leaves it does have.. looks like they dont have enough strength to stay up.  They curve down.  Is there anything i can do about this?? Is it dying?? Is it possible that the big trunk is to tall that the nutrients dont get to the leaves??  I will do anything i can to keep it alive. i have never repotted it or anything before.

Answer
Megan,

It is probably not getting enough light and too much water.
If it is indoors it needs to be next to a south facing window with drapes/blinds open all day long.

If it is outdoors it needs to be in a semi shady location.

Either place, it needs to dry out totally between waterings. It should not be watered more than once a week. It does not like temperatures below 50 degrees so keep it in if the temps drop below that where you live.

If you put it outdoors when it is warm enough and let it dry out between waterings you have a 50/50 chance of saving it.

Good luck.
Darlene
