Question
I have a dumb cane that is nearing the 2 meter mark and is too tall.  it also only has about 9 leaves at a time. when a new leaf sprouts one of the older ones turns yellow and dies.  so i guess i have 2 questions. 1 can i restart the plant and 2 should it have a fairly bare ugly stalk or should it be leaf covered.

Hi Paul,
  If you cut the dieffenbachia down the cane will sprout new shoots. It will take some time but it will soon be covered with new leaves.
