how to get new growth on a yucca cane?

Question
Hi. All of the leaves on the lower of my 3 yucca canes died. Will they grow back? Should I cut the cane below the point where these growths were originally?
thanks for your help.

Answer
Hi there,

If all of the leaves on a cane have died, that means that particular cane is dead. This often happens with the lowest of the canes. All you can do is wait until the cane is loose enough to pull it out and remove it.

A note of caution, the condition that caused the cane to die (improper watering, inadequate light) may also cause the other canes to die as well. Thus, it is important to make sure your Yucca is getting lots of bright light and that you are allowing the top quarter of the soil to dry in between waterings.
