Identification of an airplant

Question
I bought my son an airplant for a school project.  It is a miniature Tillandsia.  I would like to identify which miniature Tillandsia it is as there are several.  It is whitish or greyish green and must be very common because I bought it at Walmart.  My mother-in-law had one that was attached to a piece of drift wood and looked the same as this one.  It is about 2-2 1/2 inches tall, has narrow roundish leaves that come to a point.  The leaves all come out of the center of the base of the plant somewhat resembling the top of a pineapple plant.  The two little plants are glued into spots on a decorative figurine with a Chameleon on the base of a tree.

Answer
Terry,

It is my pet peeve that plants don't come with exact identification. The pictures at the following site might help you.

I suspect it is  type of bilbergia but there are many types of those so it is immpossible to identify it exactly from a description. Good luck with the school project.
