new plants

Question
I just ordered the Plant of the Month Club ( I got it for Christmas) and it appears that my first few plants will be dormant when they come.  I would like to re-pot them into 6 inch pots so would it be OK to do that as the plants come in or do I need to wait?

Answer
Hi Patricia,

You can transplant them right now.  Doing it while they are dormant is the best time to transplant since they will not go through any shock.  This is especially true for Venus Flytraps and hardy sundews.  Our temperatures here in Oregon have been pretty cool this winter (for us) so the plants are well acclimated.

Good Growing!
