Overheating

Question
I have a greenhouse that overheated for three consecutive days. It got up to 125 F! All of my plants, mostly nepenthes and orchids, are turning yellow. I have been watering them well and giving them a daily mist. I installed automatic vent openers after that. How do I recover from such a meltdown?

Answer
Hello Caleb,

You might have lost your plants after three days of such hot temperatures in your greenhouse. If they are going to pull through they will do so only with time and more moderate temperatures. If the roots remained cool enough and hydrated, they might have survived. There really is not much else that can be done except to wait and see what happens at this point as the damage has already been done.

I hope your plants survived,

Christopher
