Question
I have 6 lavender plants. ( i do not know what kind.)  I live NW Indiana... my plants look like dried straw... are they still alive ..will they turn green and flower again?  Thank you  Mary

Hi Mary,
Thanx for your question.  There are two types of lavender I can think of that may not come back in your area.  One is French Lavender, Lavandula dentata, hardy to Zone 8 so definitely not reliably hardy in your zone.  The other I can think of is Spanish lavender or Lavandula stoechas also not reliably hardy in zones cooler than Zone 8.  This is only mid-April so give your lavender a few more weeks to start showing growth.  Sometimes, they can be a bit slow to emerge.  I hope this helps.
