indoor plant / Palm

Question
I purchased my palm about a week ago. It's leaves are turning yellow at the ends . Am I watering to much ?
Thanks Richard

Answer
Richard,

Yes, but it also may have been overwatered in the store. What kind of palm is it? The surface of the soil should dry out before you water it. There is still moisture down in the root zone. Some palms need less water than others. If I knew the kind I could tell you closer how dry it needs to get before watering. Do not repot it until after April 1st when the days are longerand the roots will recuperate faster. Do not put it in a pot more than 2 inches larger than the current pot. Use half potting soil and half sand and it will do better. Play sand is available at Lowes or Home Depot. Good luck.
