plalnting a rubber tree

Question
Hi. i have a rubber tree plant about 2'ft tall and need to
be repotted  due to roots comming out of it. Is the size of pot important or any large sixe pot will do and can it survive indoors with little lighting?

Answer
Raye,

Roots coming out the drain hole does not necessarily mean the plant has to be repotted. You should only repot any plant if you want it to grow larger. In this case I realize you probably do. It should be moved into a pot with a diameter 2 inches larger than the diameter of the pot it is now in and no larger than that. If you move it to too large a pot it will be too easy to overwater it and it will be easy to kill it. It will not survive indoors without bright light. You can put it in a room under a 4 tube flourescent light fixture that is on at least 14 hours 7 days a week. Good luck.
