climbing plant

Question
I have what I think is a pothos and just noticed that it is climbing up my wall and is attaching itself as it climbs.  I've always wanted a plant to grow like this, but know I'm wondering if it will ruin the wall.  I don't mind a little damage, but how deep does it root?

Answer
Marsha,

It is probably a philodendron. If the leaves are solid green it is a philodendron. If they are streaked with yellow or white it is a pothos. In any case neither of themm roott vert deep. They are a surface rooter that just kind of suctions itself to the wall. It may discoler the paint but ahould not hurt the wall at all. I have one doing the same thing on my back porch.  Enjoy yours. Good luck.

Darlene
