Holes on pothos leaves

Question

Pothos
Dear Kathy,

I have purchased a pothos plant from a street fair a week ago and today I have discovered holes on some of its leaves (please view the attached picture). I have examined the plant and was unable to see any insects. In addition there are some brown spots on some leaves. I'd like to know whether the plant is infected and what I can do to stop the infection. Thank you so much for your help.

Juliet

Answer
Hi Juliet, It could be an older leave and if sprayed for bugs will rid the bugs not change the leaf.  When the new leaves come out it will tell you its ok or a problem.  You could use atomic grow to make or keep your plant healthy.  Always use a slow release fertilizer, and do not over water.  If it is in a container in the house  make sure you empty the water out of the bottom dish after 15 minutes so you do not rot the plant.  kathy
