Centipede-like insects in my plan soil

Question
I have a 5 foot tall indoor palm tree/plant.  Little centipede-like insects appear on the top of the soil shortly after watering (sometimes there are so many they virtually cover the soil).  I re-potted once using organic potting soil in hopes this would resolve the insect issue.  I have also used an organic pesticide.  While it appeared to have worked for a couple of weeks, I recently noticed that the insects are back.  Please let me know what I can do to eliminate the insects.  I'm on the verge of getting rid of the plant.

Answer
Maxine,

The centipedes must be the larval form of an insect in your area that is laying eggs in the soil and they hatch out the centipedes, You can quickly kill them by watering your plant with 2 - 3 bottles of rubbing alcohol also known as isopropyl alcohol. Pour it on the plant making sure it is sread thru the oil equally. It will kill the insects on contact. You may have to apply a second dose a few days ater to kill any more that hatch from eggs. Three applications every 3 days would probably be best to insure that you clean up the problem. Good luck.
