Bagworm damage to Spruce tree

Question
I have a mature spruce tree at the side of my house that has been attacked by bagworms during the summer. The tree is located on the edge of our property and the side that was attacked is not easily visible from the house or from the front or back yards, thus we missed the worms until much of that side of the tree had been affected.  WE immediately sprayed to kill the bagworms but the tree is now dead in those areas.  Should we take down the whole tree, cut back those areas, or will it regenerate itself? Thanks for your help!

Answer
remove all the bags from the tree now & put them in the trash so they will take them away. inside the bags are about 50-100 eggs that will hatch next year. in the spring cut out any branches that don't get new needles. spray with BT (bacillus thurginese) available at your local garden center in spring when they become active. ask the people at the garden center when to spray in your area. i'm in southern NJ.
