Dying tree

Question
We purchsed a living leland cypress for our Christmas Tree in 2008 and in January it was planted in the ground.  Now the branches are all turning yellow and dying.  If it isn't too late what can I do too help it or just tell me what we did wrong.  My husband planted the tree with rich soil and fertilzer and then mulched all around it. He also watered it every day. We live in Newberry which is right outside of Gainsville, FL.

Answer
Back off on the water. It does not need to be watered each day. Too much water is as bad for trees as too little and the symptoms are the same --needles turning Yellow and brown. Water once a week with 1 inch of water --place a pan under the tree and turn the sprinkler on and when the pan has 1 inch of water in it stop.
