Red leaf Dewthread

Question
I just received my "Red Leaf Dewthread" the other day and I
noticed the leaves are browning and dieing from the tips
down. It seems to be happening on all the leaves, even the
fairly new growth. I have it indoors for now(its still too
cold at night)but it receives a good deal of sunlight. I
also keep the soil moist to the touch and let it sit in
about an inch or two of water(I currently use spring
water).
Could it be too dry in the room, or maybe the plants are
just going thru shock? Any ideas?

p.s. I also received venus and dente fly traps that are
doing great.

Answer
Hi Seth,

Thank you for your recent purchase!  If you just received it in the mail, the plant is likely going through a transitional period.  It was in the box for a few days, so the humidity was very high.  When you remove the lid over the plants, the humidity dropped and the delicate tips turned brown.  This is normal and sometimes unavoidable with some varieties of sundew.  Follow the instructions that came with your plant.  In a couple of weeks your plant will perk up and grow normally.

Good growing!
