Question
i live in Arkansas and i just bought 50 red tip some are past my stomach and the rest are 1-3 I was just wondering if you have to trim them up because we have nosy neighbors and i was using them as a screen and how long does it take to get 5 feet tall.

Photinia is a medium to fast grower, which means that it will grow anywhere between 8 inches to 2 feet a year. I would recommend fertilizing them to maximize their growth this spring. I would not recommend pruning them until they have attained the height that you are looking for. Right now let them grow and establish themselves.
