Tropical Carnivorous Plants

Question
I am considering in the future in acquiring more carnivorous plants and was wondering how well the tropical varieties would fair where I live near Orlando, FL . I'd hope to grow the plants outside if possible. I am leaning toward some of the tropical sundews more specifically the the D. binata ssp. dichotoma - Giant Staghorn Sundew and/or the D. binata ssp. multifida - Multifork Leaf Sundew but am open to suggestions. Any advice if the tropicals would be suitable?

Answer
Hi Miguel,

The best candidates for your area are:
D. binata dichotoma
D. spatulata
Any of the pygmy sundews
D. binata multifida

These plants are most tolerant of the summer heat.  Grow them in a very sunny window with at least 4 hours of direct sunlight.

Good growing!
