Question

Greenhouse   is this a good idea for my carnivorous plants? I live on a tropical island. I have, dionaea, sundews, pitcher plants and cephalotus.

Since you said you are from the U.S. I'm guessing you live either in Hawaii, Guam, American Samoa, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.  All of those places are quite humid.  Putting your plants in an enclosure like that borders on silly since your climate is already more than humid enough.  Also, most carnivorous plants are full sun plants, and enclosures like that will cook them when the plants are in proper light.

The plants that will do best for you are tropical carnivorous plants.  The best ones would be tropical sundews, (there are many different kinds), Nepenthes (tropical pitcher plants), and tropical butterworts.  By simply choosing the correct location outdoors many of these will grow very well for you.  You'll need to do some research to understand the different varieties.  Here's a good resource:  http://www.carnivorousplants.org/howto/GrowingGuides.php

Venus Flytraps are challenging to grow in a tropical climate since they need a cool winter.  Depending on the species or hybrid, Sarracenia can work in places like Hawaii where there is a noticeable change in summer to winter.  Cephalotus is sub-tropical, but does best where it is a little cooler, such as higher elevations in tropical areas.
