pitcher plant
pitcher plant
hi I am from Melbourne , Australia, yesterday i purchased a pitcher plant from a crafts market, it has no tag on it so i don't know what type it is, can you help so i can take care of it, I have it on a landing, no direct sun but lots of light,
any help is much appreciated, many thanks,
regards,
Allan

Answer
This is a Sarracenia, a pitcher plant native to North America.  The plant you have is a hybrid, but it's difficult to determine the exact parentage.  My best educated guess is a hybrid of Sarracenia purpurea and Sarracenia alata.  For general growing information, you can read our care sheets on our main website.
