Spineless Prickly Pear Rot?

Question
We have had an extremely, wet summer here in San Antonio, not to mention I had to water extra for some grass seed I put down.  The 2 of the 3 Spineless Prickly Pear Cacti in my back yard look like they've been overwatered and are beginning to rot.  I have cut back on all unatural watering, but they still have little light green circles instead of the old smooth texture.  Is there any way to rescue these plants?

Answer
Jeff,

You most likely will need to break off some pads (just in case the main plants do not survive). After the pads "heal" for a week or so, you can plant them. Hopefully the main plants will live, but if they do not, you'll have some pads with which to re-grow them.

Hope this helps,

Sincerely,

Greg
