Transplanting aloe pups

Question
Dear Greg,
I read your response about transplanting aloe pups, where you'd suggested waiting until the pups heal before re- potting them. What is the best method for this healing to take place and at what point should I apply Superthrive to the roots?

One more question; what is the best way to separate the pups from the mother plant?

Thanks so much!
Deb

Answer
Deb,

Very sorry for taking so long to get back to you (forgot to set my vacation notice). Keep them in a warm, lighted location (not direct sun). Superthrive is added to the water that you will be watering them with, so use it every time you water for the first month or so (remember to let the soil dry between waterings).

As far as separating the pups, if they are from the stem, you can just break them off. If they are from the roots, you'll want to get as much of the root as possible. Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Greg
