transplanting aloe

Question
my aloe plant is about 4-5 foot tall and has fallen over. starting
to grow crooked. would like to straighten it out. should i take off
lower leaves and cut the base off and replant? any suggestion on
how to straighten and have it survive is welcome. lower leaves
are darker and not as firm as the upper. it has recently been
moved from Pa. to N.J. in the back of a truck, new growth since
the move is about 1 foot. i need help!

Answer
Dear Susie,

Please send me a picture of your plant to [email protected]. I need to know if it is a tree type Aloe or one that is only supposed to grow so high. If you know the latin name or it's common name, that will be sufficient to identify your plant.

Thanks,

Greg
