Corkscrew Weeping Willow Tree

Question
I found these tiny worms on some of the leaves of our tree. There were probably 10 on one small leaf. What are these and what can we do?
Thank you

Answer
Without a description it would be hard to ID which caterpillar insect this maybe. But all can be controlled with the use of an insecticide. Here are some names of insecticides that will work. Caterpillars control - diazinon, carbaryl, malathion, pyrethrum, Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt). Check with your local nursery/ garden type store for these. Most insect that feed on the leaves in the early fall do very little damage since the leaves are shutting down for the winter. But if you control the caterpillars this year you will not have any next.
