creepy thin brownish plant worms...

Question
Hey David, I have couple of house plants I bought few months ago. For the past month or so I found those creepy looking thin, brownish worms crawling out of the pots to the floor. They are less than an inch long. Dont know the name of the other plant, some kind of palm tree but the other one is corn plant. I bought the plants from the same place. Any idea what those worms might be and HOW TO GET RID OF THEM?? Would change of the soil help or some kind of pesticide? Thank you very much.
Regards, Rea.

Answer
I do not know what the worms are.  Most likely they are not hurting the plants.  I do not blame you though, I wouldnt want them in my pots either.  I would try mixing up some Sevin insecticide and pour some through the pots.  That should take care of them.  Do this outside of course and let the water and Sevin mixture run out the bottom.  Wait a couple of hours and then flush with freah water.  Wait another hour or so and then you can bring them back inside.  There are other products that may work as well.  Good Luck.
