Nocturnal Skunks

Question
I live in rural Central Indiana and this year have problems with skunks visiting at night searching for food under bird feeders. These feeders have been there for years. In the early AM hours I can turn on the lights and have seen from 1 to 4 skunks in the yard.  At first tapping on the window would scare them off but now they seem more "at home" .  I have used high frequency sound devices and most recently a concoction of dishsoap and hot pepper sauce/powder to spice up the bird seed on the ground.  Nothing seems to work. Obviously trapping is out of the question.  Any suggestions?

Answer
Hi Tom,

The skunks are digging up grubs in your yard in addition to the feeder interest so a localized feeder cure won't do much.   Skunks don't much mind people or cats or many other non-predator animals, but not dogs... which are the cause of most stink sprays. I make instinct based deterrents that move them down the road.
