Converting from chemicals to organic lawn

Question
After a lot of soul searching, I have finally concluded that an organic lawn program is something I ought to try at least.  I am ready to make a commitment, but I do not have any idea where to begin.  Do you think I have to start from scratch (sod, seed, rototill) or can this be done gradually without opening the door to a lot of weeds and insects?  Thanks.

Answer
It can be done gradually.  It is mostly a matter of balancing the soil so it will be healthy.  For lots of information  and a source for organic lawn and weed products go to:  http://www.cockadoodledoo.com/ Pure Barnyard, Inc., a leader in the organic lawn and garden market, is home to the Cockadoodle DOO Brand of Organic Lawn & Garden Products including Super-Premium organic fertilizer and Super-Premium organic weed control.

Also http://www.organiclawncaretips.com/ has a lot of good information about organic lawns and how to grow them.

These two web sites should give you a good start...
