quackgrass encroaching from neighbor

Question
I have quackgrass encroaching my yard from the neighbor.  Is there a lawn barrier I can put in to help keep it from coming over to my lawn?

Answer
I have to be honest in saying that I've never heard of such a thing, but theoretically it would work.  Quackgrass spreads by underground tillers known as rhizomes.  If you stopped them from getting into an area, that would stop the spread.  If you are going to attempt this, I'd recommend something solid that sticks up above the ground a bit and goes down at least 8 inches, preferably a foot.

I'd be shocked if the quackgrass gets past that.

Let me know what you do!  It sounds like a good idea that should pan out.
