Watering gardens

Question
What is best for plants or vegeable gardens spraying or watering just the roots?

Answer
Dear Toby:

Drip irrigation systems are a far more efficient method of irrigating lawns and gardens. Water is delivered slowly and directly to the roots of the plants and lawn using a hose which is literally full of tiny holes. As water is delivered slowly and steadily to the plants, there is less tendency to over water, less waste due to water runoff, and less risk of plant disease developing as a result of excess water pooling in the soil and collecting on the surface area.

Suggest you shop for a drip irrigation system or a soaker (tiny holes) hose at your garden supply store.  I personally use the soaker hose and plan to go to a drip irrigation system next year.
