Dear Jonathan,

Can you recommend low maintenance plants for apartment porches?  I have a sunny and a shaded side, the west side is sunny most of the day while the east side has a wall that blocks direct sunlight. I would like plants for both sides.

Also, one of my plants came with a white fungus and this has infected most of my plants.  I had to throw them out because it basically took over my porch.  Can you recommend any safe anti fugal treatment? I am afraid of bringing in new plants for fear of contamination.

Any assistance would be great.

Sorry for the delay but I spilt some liquid on my pc so i was offline for a while-

I would reccomend going for a combination of Iris and succulents in the sunny section of your porch. While, in the shadier section I would try a fernery, comprised of the many varieties of ferns and hostas to make a striking foliage contrast
