Answer
Hi Waheed,

Unfortunately, carnivorous plants are not good insect controllers, especially with mosquitoes.  Think of carnivorous plants as very interesting looking plants that happen to capture insects for their fertilizer.

For the plant to capture an insect, the insect must be attracted to nectar.  Nectar is what the plant uses to lure insects into their traps.  Unfortunately, mosquitoes are not usually attracted to nectar, so they rarely get caught.

If you want a really amazing plant for your garden, however, you can grow lots of Nepenthes, a type of pitcher plant that grows well in very warm tropical climates.  I recommend getting them as a plant rather than as seeds.  Seeds take an extremely long time to grow before the plant gets large.
