control valve not working

Question
Had two bad zones on my sprinker system.  Instead of replacing the entire controller, I just replaced the 'guts'.  Replacing the guts on one controller worked great but didn't on the other.  I can remove the diaphragm and it allows water to pass thru to the heads.  If I replace the diaphragm and open the bleeder valve or unscrew the solenoid, it won't let water through?  The diaphragm is new as is the bonnet.  The local rain bird dealer verified the solenoid worked.  What did I do wrong?

Answer
I think what you refer to as a controller is what I call a valve.  The valve that isn't working might have a problem with the ports that let water on top of the diaphragm.  Try dismantling it, clean all the parts well, and reassemble.  Make sure all the parts are there.  If this doesn't work, maybe you need to replace the valve.
