Question
I have 8 zones active on the 12 zone cycle wheel. 7 of the zones activate when the wheel moves to the designated zone. on #8 zone, nothing happens but times out and then goes to the rest position. could this be a bad solenoid valve on #8 and need to be replaced? are there individual solenoid valves for each zone?

Answer
Hey Chuck, I hope this helps. If the control wheel is stopping at zone #8, but he valve is not activating, then it is probably one of three things. #1 is that you have a bad wire connection or faulty wire. Check your connections at the solenoid on the valve, and at the controller. #2, is a bad solenoid, the solenoid will unscrew off the valve, and you can screw a new one back on. #3, you have a bad diaphram in the valve, and you need to replace the diaphram. You are correct, in that each zone has a separate solenoid valve. A good website to troubleshoot your problem is www.irrigationtutorials.com, it will show you how to replace a solenoid or rebuild a valve if you have to replace the diaphram. Good luck and let me know if I can be of anymore help. Thanks and have a great day.
