Seeping Rainbird Vale

Question
I have a rain Bird system 6 zones with drains to the lowest point on each zone. Last year i notice that the drain on zone is always wet. Same thing this year, So i check the vale (DV100 vale) on zone five and can't find any thing wrong flushed it out and same problem. I ordered a rebuild kit and installed it New Diaphragm spring ect... turned on same thing water seeping out. I would think the vale isn't closing all the way? what should i do next.

Thanks
Terry

Answer
Hey Terry, I would suggest trying this first. The Rainbird solenoids have a tendency to catch debris and not close fully, allowing a small amount of water to pass through. Before you buy a new solenoid, try switching this  solenoid with one from another valve, and see if the problem stops on zone 5, but occurs on the other valve you put the bad solenoid on. If changing the solenoid does not work, then the valve body might have a hairline crack in it, and the whole valve needs to be replaced. go to www.irrigationtutorials.com, and this website will show you how to replace the valve. Good luck and have a great day.
