Power Off/Valve question

Question
I have an Orbit 6 zone timer that i am using.  I have had the "Power Off" on the display and have been unable to get it off so I went and bought a new one today.  The new one seemed to work as I was going through the station until it got to one of my zones and it kicked the "power off" message again and shut it all off. I tried to replace the solenoid on the valve but it doesn't seem to have done anything.  I'll take any help I can get.  Thank you!

Answer
Hey Bob, when you say "it doesn't seem to have done anything" do you mean the message "power off" has not gone off, or each time you run that zone it keeps giving you the message "power off"? It could be that you didn't replace the right solenoid, or it could be the right solenoid was replaced, but the wires are shorting out on the run from the controller to the valves. Double check your wiring running to the valves, and also make sure you replaced the right solenoid. You're on the right track. To tell if it is the solenoid or the wires, first un-hook the wires at the solenoid, and then turn that valve on at the controller. If it still gives you the "power off" message, then the problem is in the wires, if it doesn't give you the message, then it is the solenoid. Good luck and have a great day.
